Politics Can Be Frustrating
Politics can be frustrating. Scratch that. Politics is frustrating.
I don't know where to start, so I'll start with the War.
People in the media don't tell the whole story. People in politics don't tell the whole story. No one seems to tell the whole story. Everyone emphasizes their own agenda and disregards the facts. Often there are two sides that push their own agenda and many of the facts are left at the wayside.
Enough generalities, lets look at some specifics.
In the march toward war the politicians on both sides of the issue agreed to go to war and didn't argue the issue. If a lone dissenter from Oakland California spoke against the war she was treated like a loon. The politicians didn't represent the interest of the people. People protested in the streets and the politicians ignored the cries. Somehow this major policy issue wasn't even discussed. The President claimed a terrorist connection with Iraq and the politicians march right along side this obvious false hood. What the hell is going on when the truth can be left for dead. People argued that Iraq could attack the US with nuclear weapons in 45 minutes, and even those in the know didn't argue. Are the major political parties so powerful that no one can argue against such lies with out political damage? If they are then our political structure needs to be re-examined. How can the American people learn that there are more than two points of view?
Where is the media when it is so obvious that the US government is hypocritical when it comes to the greater good of Ousting Sadam Hussein when Weapons of Mass Destruction was the battle cry?
If the US finds that it is OK to drive Sadam from power in Iraq, and they are so upset with Fidel Castro in Cuba, what is stopping them from invading Cuba. And, Cuba isn't the only unfriendly government. What about Korea and Iran, the other two countries in the axes of Evil. What about Palistine, Indonisia, Columbia or Myanmar. All of these counties have a terrorist problem and perhaps they aren't doing their best at containing this evil. My question is: Why doesn't the media hit these points harder? And, why don't the Americans see this hypocracy?
